Emily is an epidemiologist and lead of the Epidemiology Research Team in the Behavioral Science and Epidemiology Branch in the Division of STD Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. Her current work focuses on detection and response of antimicrobial resistant gonorrhea, and surveillance of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. She is interested in understanding the role of sexual networks in STD prevention and transmission, and epidemiologic methods to improve estimation of case rates, prevalence, and incidence of STDs. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Masters in Public Health from Boston University.
