Edson Chipalo, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at Lewis University in the Department of Social Work. Chipalo's primary research examines the association between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and health outcomes, particularly among adolescents and youth, specifically those who are refugees or belong to other vulnerable populations residing in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Dr. Chipalo also researches various predictive factors that influence successful refugee resettlement in the United States. His research in this area investigates the social, cultural, economic, welfare, and psychological factors contributing to successful integration and well-being outcomes for refugees.
