Methods: An anonymous survey was offered to MSM on PrEP in a private practice and free STI clinics in Paris region and in Martinique, presented at the end of a consultation or via email, between July and August 2022 and between November 2022 and January 2023.
Results: 220 people took the survey. 207/220 (94%) thought an APN app would be interesting. PN in the context of private parties or sex places was difficult for 149/220 (68%) - it didn't apply to 65/220 (30%). Scanning a QR code, swiping or bumping phones before or after sex, at the door of a private party was “possible” or “easy” for 184/220 (83%). The main characteristics expected for an ideal APN app were simplicity, anonymity, discretion.
Conclusion: KYSS concept matches French MSM on PrEP expectations for an ideal APN app. It would fill a gap in the control strategy by offering for the first time a solution for group sex in private or commercial settings. The funding, development and launch of such an app are necessary so it is available to those who need it. In addition to direct PN, anonymous text PN and assisted PN, KYSS would participate in a better control of STIs.
