Dr. Julia Janssen is a Medical Epidemiologist and the Medical Director of Disease Intervention Services in the STI & HIV Prevention and Control Section at the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH). She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and completed medical school and residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Prior to joining SFDPH, she contributed to research and response efforts for COVID-19, malaria, and dengue as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and has previously researched or contributed to response efforts on Zika, Hepatitis B, polio, and helminth infections.
