Zinhle Sokhela has a master’s degree in social science and her research interests include the development of strategies aimed at promoting health and the complex psychological, social, and biological dynamics surrounding the disease. She worked at the UKZN with the Vuka Family Programme which supports HIV-infected youth and was one of the program developers for the Positive Period project that focused on young girls’ sexual reproductive health. She has worked with the HSRC, ANOVA & AURUM in multiple programs focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment promotion among the key population such as the Key Population Implementation Science, Multiple Package Prevention Project, Integrated Bio-Behavioural Study, and the GIZ workplace project focusing on HIV/AIDS awareness in the workplace. She has published scientific research papers focusing on HIV/AIDS and other public health issues and managed a Journal of Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS disseminating research on social factors relating to HIV/AIDS. Currently, she is a GPP Project manager at WITSRHI, focusing on community education, study recruitment, stakeholder engagement, and strategic input into Good Participatory Practice for the clinical research site.
